I started watching the Olympic Games when it was held in Seoul, Korea. From there onwards, I continued to watch the Olympic Games and look out for the cities that won bids to host the Olympic Games.

The Olympic Games of 1916, 1940 and 1948 were not held due to:-
Germany was divided into two countries after 1945 and were reunited in 1989
The 14 states that form the Union of Soviet Socialist Repulic (USSR) gain independence in 1991.
The states that form Yugoslavia has gain independence in 1991 due to internal war.
From 1994 onwards the intervals between the Summer and Winter Olympic Games will be two years, instead of both having four year interval.
